At our Compost Hubs, food scraps collected from the community are transformed into nutrient-rich compost, and we need your help to make it happen! As a Compost Hub Support Volunteer, you’ll gain hands-on experience working alongside our knowledgeable Compost Managers. Get ready to leave feeling accomplished, a little sweaty, and brimming with new compost knowledge.
ABOUT ACTIVITY:Roll up your sleeves and dive into a variety of engaging activities-whether it’s managing a three-bin system, tending to a compost pile, sifting finished compost, or exploring a mix of everything. There’s something for everyone, from beginners to seasoned pros! Plus, our Compost Hubs are situated in LA County’s most cherished green spaces: community gardens, urban farms, and beautiful parks. Join passionate community composters, learn to turn food scraps into rich compost, and connect with the local food system.
TIME: Starting on Dec 6th, 2024 it will be every Friday we will host volunteers in this beautiful green space from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm PSTMore opportunities with LA Compost

As a community-based non-profit, we are dedicated to ensuring a healthy transition where food is never wasted but instead returned to the soil for the next cycle of life. In collaboration with a diverse network of partners throughout LA County, we create spaces for local compost access and engagement, promote restorative practices, and empower our community. If you have been dreaming about getting involved in community composting, we invite you to volunteer with us.
