Position: Virtual Platform Specialist Location: Remote Time commitment: Flexible Hours Description: As a Virtual Platform Specialist for STEM Canada, you will play a crucial role in developing, managing, and optimizing our online learning platforms. This position requires a tech-savvy individual with a passion for education technology and the ability to create engaging virtual environments for STEM learning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in educational technology and the skills to ensure seamless online experiences for students, educators, and administrators. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain STEM Canada's virtual learning platforms, ensuring they are user-friendly, accessible, and aligned with our educational goals. Collaborate with curriculum developers and educators to implement interactive STEM content and activities on the platform. Provide technical support and training to users, including students, teachers, and staff. Monitor platform performance and user engagement, making data-driven recommendations for improvements. Implement and manage learning management systems (LMS) and other educational software tools. Ensure the security and privacy of user data on all virtual platforms. Stay updated on the latest trends and innovations in educational technology and e-learning. Develop and maintain documentation for platform use and troubleshooting. Collaborate with the IT team to integrate virtual platforms with other systems and tools used by STEM Canada. Assist in creating and editing video content for online courses and webinars. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field 2+ years of experience in managing virtual learning platforms or educational technology Proficiency in learning management systems (e.g., Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard) Strong knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and content management systems Experience with video conferencing tools and webinar platforms Familiarity with accessibility standards for online learning Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users Passion for STEM education and its importance in today's world Experience with data analytics and reporting tools (preferred) Knowledge of the Canadian education system and STEM curriculum (preferred) Benefits: Enjoy flexible working hours with a minimum commitment of 6 hours per week.
