Native Plant Nursery Workday
ORGANIZATION: Arlington County Natural Resources
Please visit the new page to apply.
- A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
Nursery workdays are held at Arlington County's native plant nursery every Tuesday afternoon from 2-4, unless otherwise posted.
There are a variety of tasks we could use help with, depending on the season and needs of the nursery including: weeding pots and rows, collecting seeds, sowing seeds in trays or in the field, moving/organizing plants, transplanting and dividing. No experience necessary - training, tools and gloves will provided.
Volunteers should come dressed for the weather and bring water, sunscreen and anything else you may need for working outdoors.
The nursery is most easily found by navigating to 'Tucker Field at Barcroft Park'. This is a stand-alone baseball field with a field house and a dedicated parking lot From this parking lot, follow the service road past the pedestrian bridge and through the open set of gates that says 'county vehicles only'. The nursery is located on the far side of the fenced area.
