About Technolochicas:

Technolochicas is a groundbreaking initiative designed to inspire and empower young students aged 11-17 to explore and pursue careers in Computer Science. Through a series of dynamic and engaging courses ranging from website development, app creation, robotics, to artificial intelligence, Technolochicas aims to ignite a passion for technology and innovation in the hearts of these future tech leaders.

Role Summary:

As a Technolochica mentor you will teach mostly latina girls in middle school or high school how to create a video game, website, learn about robotix and use artificial inteligence. You will leverage your knowledge and enthusiasm for STEM to guide students through our curriculum, fostering a supportive and inspirational learning environment. It does not matter if your are not an expert on this subjects, we will train you and you will learn with us new skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate ten-hour of classes, ensuring a supportive, engaging, and effective learning environment.
  • Participate in a short training program designed to equip you with the tools and resources needed for a successful mentorship experience.
  • Adhere to additional screening requirements as mandated by local community and school partners.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or have completed a degree in a STEM-related field.
  • Previous teaching or mentorship experience is a plus but not required.
  • Must be based in Los Angeles for the duration of the program.
