Volunteer Job Posting: Austin NOW Economic Justice Volunteer - Outreach Liaison
Position Title: Economic Justice Volunteer - Outreach Liaison
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid - Remote and In-Person Events)
Commitment: 5-10 hours per month
Reports To: Economic Justice Committee Lead
About Austin NOW: Austin NOW (National Organization for Women) is dedicated to advocating for the rights and empowerment of all women through intersectional activism and community engagement. Our Economic Justice Committee focuses on advancing policies and initiatives that promote fair wages, financial equity, and economic opportunities for marginalized communities.
Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and motivated Outreach Liaison to join our Economic Justice Committee. As the Outreach Liaison, you will play a crucial role in building and strengthening partnerships with local organizations, nonprofits, and community leaders. Your efforts will help expand our reach, increase community engagement, and drive our advocacy work forward.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partnership Development: Identify and connect with local organizations, businesses, and community groups that align with Austin NOW’s mission and Economic Justice initiatives.
- Community Engagement: Represent Austin NOW at events, forums, and community meetings to build relationships and promote our work.
- Collaborative Projects: Coordinate joint initiatives and events with partner organizations to advance economic justice, such as workshops, educational campaigns, and advocacy efforts.
- Communication and Reporting: Maintain regular communication with the Economic Justice Committee Lead and provide updates on outreach activities and new partnership opportunities.
- Event Planning Support: Assist in organizing and promoting events focused on economic justice, including financial literacy workshops and advocacy campaigns for wage equity.
Qualifications:
- Passion for economic justice and a strong commitment to intersectional feminism.
- Experience in community outreach, partnership development, or volunteer coordination is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Comfortable representing Austin NOW in various community settings.
