The Light Maintenance volunteer will assist in maintain the buildings and ground that comprise the Bishop Sullivan Center campuses.
Tasks
Carry out a variety of planned activities needed to fix, maintain, and keep the buildings in good working order. This may include replacing lightbulbs, assisting with grounds upkeep, assist with larger maintenance project according to skills.
- · Identify any preventative maintenance solutions, discuss with Director of Operations and come up with strategies to help achieve these solutions.
- · Help identify volunteer projects and assist in obtaining supplies.
- · General improvements such as painting, maintaining furniture and fixing minor cosmetic issues
Competencies
- · Experience with DIY or general maintenance tasks
- · Specialist skills such as plumbing, electrician, HVAC a HUGE plus, but not required
- · Able to safely use hand and power tools
- · Able to keep a log of maintenance performed
- · Adaptable and flexible
- · Easily approachable
- · Ability to be trained in a fast-paced atmosphere

Food: Bishop Sullivan Center operates two food pantries and One City Cafe, a community kitchen that provides nutritious lunch and dinner every weekday.
Jobs: Our employment programs seeks to remove barriers that prevent people from finding and keeping employment. We also operate two computer labs and assist with job searches and resume building.
Aid: We provide financial assistance to low-income families in the form of utility, rent or other needed assistance.
