Volunteer Administrative Assistant Needed for Haitian Heritage House
Haitian Heritage House, a nonprofit organization in Trenton, NJ, is seeking a dedicated Volunteer Administrative Assistant to support our mission of preserving and promoting cultural heritage. This role involves essential tasks, including managing email correspondence, researching and tracking potential donors, and making outreach calls on behalf of the organization. Your support will help drive our initiatives, including our upcoming cultural community festival planned for May 2025, along with wellness and community empowerment programs that celebrate and uplift Haitian heritage.
Responsibilities:
- Handle and respond to email inquiries professionally and promptly
- Conduct research on potential donors and maintain an organized donor tracking system
- Make calls to connect with community members, partners, and donors, representing Haitian Heritage House with professionalism
- Collaborate with our team on special projects and other administrative tasks as needed
Ideal Volunteer:
We're looking for someone organized, communicative, and enthusiastic about supporting Haitian culture and community empowerment. Prior administrative experience is a huge plus but not required; we’re happy to provide training to help you succeed in this role!
Impact:
Your volunteer work will be vital in helping Haitian Heritage House continue its mission, ensuring sustainable support for educational, healthcare, and economic development programs, as well as our cultural festival, all of which benefit the New Jersey community.
Time Commitment:
Flexible hours, ideally 10 hours per week (remote).

Goals: Haitian Heritage House is dedicated to preserving Haiti’s cultural heritage and fostering the social, economic, and educational advancement of Haitian communities. We aim to strengthen unity and resilience through programs promoting wellness, cultural pride, language services, and economic empowerment.
History: Established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Haitian Heritage House was founded to support Haitian communities facing political instability, economic hardship, and humanitarian challenges. Our organization has become a vital resource, advocating for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and creating opportunities for community growth and empowerment.
Programs: Haitian Heritage House offers a range of impactful programs. Our community festivals celebrate Haitian culture and foster inclusivity. We advocate for DEI, uplifting local entrepreneurs by providing a platform to showcase their talents. Our initiatives connect Haitians with essential wellness and community resources, support social and economic development, and enrich lives through language and translation services, as well as educational programs.
