As a volunteer at our Sustainable Gift Boutique, you’ll play a critical role in supporting our mission to protect imperiled marine species and their coastal ecosystems. Whether it’s sharing the inspiring stories of sea turtles, dolphins, and manatees with visitors or helping our boutique thrive, your contribution will directly impact our ability to save lives and create lasting change.

The Urgent Need: Protecting Our Oceans, Preserving Our Future
Our oceans are in crisis, and so are the marine animals that depend on them. Sea turtles, manatees, and dolphins-charismatic ambassadors of our coastal waters-face unprecedented threats from habitat destruction, pollution, red tide, and human activity. Since 1981, The Coastal Stewards have been a critical force for marine conservation in South Florida. We’ve inspired thousands, saved countless marine animals, and built deep community ties. But with growing threats, our work is far from done. The urgency of this situation cannot be overstated.

Retail and Sustainability: Extending Conservation Through Our Gift Store
Our retail and sustainability operations, including our gift store at Gumbo Limbo and our Boutique in Ocean Ridge, are a deliberate extension of our mission. Through our team of ambassadors, both in-store and online, we share critical information about the impact of single-use plastics and other environmental threats. Our gift store and boutique serve as a platform for storytelling, connecting visitors to the stories of marine animals in crisis and encouraging them to join us as stewards of coastal ecosystems.
