ORGANIZATION: Collective Health Group

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled volunteer music therapist to bring comfort and emotional support to hospice patients through the power of music. As a volunteer music therapist, you will work with patients in their final stages of life, offering therapeutic music interventions that help reduce anxiety, pain, and stress, while also providing opportunities for emotional expression, relaxation, and connection.

You will collaborate with our hospice care team to tailor music sessions to each patient’s needs, preferences, and abilities. This may include playing live music, singing, or using music as a tool for reminiscence or relaxation. No prior experience in hospice care is required, but a background in music therapy or a related field is preferred.

**Responsibilities:**
- Provide individualized music therapy sessions to hospice patients, either one-on-one or in small groups.
- Tailor music choices and therapeutic activities based on patients’ preferences, abilities, and conditions.
- Work with the hospice care team to ensure patient comfort and well-being during sessions.
- Offer emotional and spiritual support through music, helping patients find peace and comfort during end-of-life care.

**Qualifications:**
- Must have training or certification in music therapy (or equivalent background in music and therapy).
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic personality.
- Ability to adapt musical interventions to meet the needs of patients in various emotional, cognitive, and physical states.
- Ability to work with a multidisciplinary care team and communicate effectively.

**Time Commitment:** Flexible scheduling options available, typically ranging from 1-2 hours per week.

**Benefits of Volunteering:**
- Make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and their families during a critical time.
- Be part of a supportive and caring hospice team.
- Gain valuable experience in the therapeutic use of music in end-of-life care.

If you’re passionate about music and wish to bring comfort and joy to those nearing the end of their lives, we’d love to have you join our team. Your gift of music can provide much-needed emotional support and leave a lasting, positive impact.
