ORGANIZATION: THE LEARNING SOURCE

English as a Second Language (ESL) Classes for adults and families.

These English as a Second Language (ESL) classes are FREE and teach six levels of English with a focus on the skills needed for living and working in an English-speaking society. Classes incorporate the four components of learning a language including reading, speaking, listening and writing.

No prior experience is required to volunteer, we provide you with the training and teacher support.


Time Commitment

Consistency is important in our classroom, so we ask for time commitment to be through the quarter(s) of your choice.

Quarter 1 - August to October

Quarter 2 - October to December

Quarter 3 - December to March

Quarter 4 - March to May

The Learning Source promotes and provides educational opportunities through collaborative partnerships for adults and families to support their future achievements.

Description

Founded in 1964 by Sister Cecilia Linenbrink, The Learning Source began in a church basement with only 40 students, 16 volunteers, and no paid staff. Today, it is one of the oldest and largest adult education agencies in the state of Colorado.

The Learning Source "FREE" classes are for adult learners ages 17 and older. These classes include:

  • English as a Second Language (ESL)
  • Family Literacy ESL
  • English Conversation Circles
  • Corrections High School Equivalency Preparation
