Position Overview - Volunteer Engagement Manager

Youth candidates (high school or college students) are welcome to apply to this position.

The Volunteer Engagement Manager will be responsible for recording and maintaining volunteer tracking as well as team growth and development initiatives. This role is crucial in ensuring that our programs run smoothly and effectively. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a knack for organization, and a passion for our cause.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Design and create our volunteer coordination schedule and activity tracker, using common tools such as Excel/Google sheets, Google Forms, and calendaring. You will also have the opportunity to weigh in on expanding these tools.

2) Setup and maintain our volunteer appreciation and review system, specifically Presidential Volunteer Service Awards ( https://presidentialserviceawards.gov/).

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

1)Previous experience volunteering, preferably with a component of mentoring, managing others in any capacity (with or without authority)

2) A European or Romance (latin) connection and interest in cultural heritage

3) Willingness to sign up for a 6 month-one year commitment. We’re open to longer term and do have other opportunities, including leadership opportunities along the way.

4) Strong ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy with excellent attention to detail.

5) Ability to prioritize and work independently from remote locations (excellent time management skills are essential).

6) Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Time commitment: Average 1-3 hours a week in steady state, higher during the initial setup.

This is an unpaid volunteer position. We accept remote candidates but hybrid is desired, for our occasional in-person events.
