Do you want to help ecologically restore our local ecosystems, and protect our waterways by picking up litter in the process? Then this project is for you!

This is a dual event tied to Clean Neighborhoods' Waterway Cleanups! Volunteers will be planting 3 gallon containers of trees and shrubs throughout Brookside Park, and specifically along Pogue's Run where volunteers have previously removed invasive honeysuckle. And we'll be picking up litter along the way! Revegetation plantings are a part of our habitat restoration efforts led by our Department of Native Landscapes. If you have attended any events in our Riparian Restoration Series at Brookside Park, you won't want to miss this event! Help bring our habitat restoration work full circle as we plant 300 3-gallon trees and shrubs throughout the riparian corridor!

Parking & Meeting Location: Parking is available at the Brookside Park Tennis Courts (3500 Brookside Pkwy S Dr, Indianapolis, IN, 46218), and restrooms will be available for use after 12pm inside the Family Center.

Safety: Close toed shoes are required for this project. We highly recommend wearing long pants (you may encounter poison ivy in the area), prepare to wear cold weather-appropriate clothing, close-toed shoes, and gloves that are provided (you are welcome to bring your own). We always recommend bringing a reusable bottle for water but we will have disposable cups available, if needed.
