Be a Christmas Craft Creator for Our Annual Christmas Party! This is in HILO

Join us as a Christmas Craft Creator and help bring creativity and joy to the children at our annual Christmas Party! As a Craft Creator, you’ll host a simple, festive craft activity that the keiki can make and take home. Let’s create beautiful memories and keepsakes together! Some of these children will make these as gifts for their family or friends... Crafts are so important this time of the year!

Requirements:

  1. Bring a Ready-to-Go Craft: Each Craft Creator must provide a non religious holiday-themed craft project that’s simple and enjoyable for children to assemble. You’ll need to bring enough materials for up to 100 children. (we have a list of their favorites listed on the slots page, or you can design your own)
  2. Pre-Cut Materials: For safety, please ensure that all items are precut so no scissors are needed. This will make assembly quick, easy, and safe for little hands.
  3. Materials Not Allowed: Please avoid using glitter or liquid glue. Instead, feel free to use glue dots, glue sticks, or a hot glue gun as needed. NO Paint, nothing that makes a mess!!
  4. Family-Friendly Volunteering: Groups or families are welcome to work together! Please note that due to limited space, only 3- people can staff each craft station, and one volunteer must be 18 or older.
  5. Table Setup: Each craft station will have a 5-6 foot table with another volunteer, so plan your setup accordingly.
  6. Elf Attire: Bring festive cheer by dressing as an elf! We have some accessories available, or you’re welcome to bring your own.
  7. Event Details:
    • Check-in: 4-5 pm
    • Orientation: 5 pm
    • Doors Open: 6 pm
    • Event Ends: 7:30 pm

Why Volunteer? This Christmas Party gives homeless children the chance to celebrate the holidays with creativity, warmth, and joy. Through your craft station, you’ll help them create something they can take with them-something that reminds them of the holiday magic and the kindness of our community. Volunteering as a Craft Creator lets you make a lasting impact by giving children the opportunity to make and treasure their own little piece of Christmas cheer.

Join us in making this season magical for the children who need it most. Your time, creativity, and care can make their holidays unforgettable!

Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. Thank you!

We have options of the Childrens FAVORITE crafts, or you can choose to bring your own!!

Mission Statement

Mission Statement: "Empowering Hawai'i's homeless children to break the cycle of poverty through education, mentorship, and life-changing experiences." Vision Statement: "A future where every homeless child in Hawai'i has the opportunity to succeed, thrive, and reach their fullest potential."

Description

Project Hawai’i, Inc. is an award-winning, volunteer-driven nonprofit dedicated to serving over 1,600 homeless children annually across O'ahu, Maui, and the Big Island of Hawai'i. We aim to transform the lives of these children by providing stability through engaging programs such as educational summer camps, holiday events, school support, and life skills training. In addition, we offer monthly outreach services, ensuring children have access to nutritious meals, personal hygiene supplies, and emergency resources.

Since our founding in 2003, we are proud to have helped over 2,000 homeless children break free from the cycle of poverty, empowering them to build stronger, more secure futures for themselves and their families.

With more than 23,000 children in Hawai'i living in substandard and homeless conditions, our mission is to end the cycle of poverty for Hawai'i’s keiki.
