Community Tax Aid is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as VITA Tax Preparation Volunteers. If you have a passion for helping others and an interest in tax preparation, this is an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact in your community.

Location: 6188 Oxon Hill Road, Suite 700 Oxon Hill, MD 20745

When we would need you:

· Saturday mornings, Monday and Wednesday evenings

Key Responsibilities:

· Accurately prepare tax returns for low-to-moderate income individuals and families.

· Ensure confidentiality and security of client information.

· Provide high-quality service and tax education to clients.

· Attend required training sessions to stay updated on tax laws and filing procedures.

Requirements:

· Successfully obtain VITA certification by the IRS, ensuring you're equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills.

· Commit to at least four hours per week at one of our tax sites for the duration of the 11-week tax season.

· Attend and actively participate in all mandatory training sessions provided by Community Tax Aid.

· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

What You Bring:

· A detail-oriented and methodical approach to tax preparation.

· Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex tax scenarios.

· The ability to communicate tax concepts to clients in a clear and understandable manner.

· A commitment to upholding the highest standards of accuracy and professionalism.

· You have Spanish language fluency.
