Position Overview:
SCORE Western Massachusetts is seeking a motivated and skilled Client Newsletter Editor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating engaging content for our client newsletter, which serves as a vital communication tool for our community of small business owners. This is a great opportunity for an experienced communicator to make a meaningful impact on local entrepreneurship.

Location: Massachusetts, Rhode Island or Western Conn. (Virtual)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation: Write, edit, and proofread articles and features for the newsletter.
  • Research: Utilize the SCORE website and other resources to gather relevant information and best practices to share with clients.
  • Interviews: Conduct interviews with mentors, successful entrepreneurs, and community members to gather insights and stories.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with a designer to create visually appealing layouts and graphics.
  • Newsletter Management: Utilize Constant Contact to manage newsletter distribution and track engagement metrics.
  • Deadline Management: Ensure all content is completed and delivered on time for each publication.
  • Diverse Interactions: Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, including clients, mentors, and peers, to gather content and feedback.
  • Content Ideation: Brainstorm and develop creative ideas for newsletter topics that resonate with our audience.


    Qualifications:

    • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
    • Experience in content creation or communications, particularly in a nonprofit or community-focused setting.
    • Proficiency with Constant Contact preferred
    • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse individuals.
    • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
    • Creative mindset with the ability to generate fresh content ideas.
