What should volunteers know about the location?

Our location is near the corner of Needmore and North Dixie, behind JJ's Chicken and Fish. The location has ramp access and no stairs into the building. Please park in the parking lot in front of our location. If, for any reason, you arrive and the location is locked, reach out to your volunteer point of contact for the day.

About the event

This event impacts the community to make a difference when it comes to food, personal care, and pet care. We provide meals and resources to those that are in need. Your support makes all the difference.

What will volunteers do?

Volunteers will check in community patrons, prepare food/pet/personal care bags, and fill orders. You can expect light to mid lifting (5-15 lbs), at times lifting can be 20 lbs and light to moderate physical activity. Sometimes it can get very busy for short bursts.

What will volunteers need to bring or wear?

Dress comfortably, wear closed toe shoes please.

OUR MISSION: TO CREATE A SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR THE PURPOSE OF EQUALITY, EDUCATION, AND SUPPORT FOR THE LGBT COMMUNITY AND THEIR ALLIES.

Description

Have A Gay Day started as a social media movement which turned into a non-profit charity organization in 2014. Since that time we have started making moves towards peer to peer support and also have been working on a platform of education and conversation. Our goal is to empower the unity of community and providing support for those that need us.
