Kitchen volunteering is a great fit for volunteers who like working in a team while also interacting with DWC participants.

Why: A home-cooked meal is one of the most important needs in our Day Center, and is often the way that unhoused folks new to the area find out about DWC and our services.

Who: Downtown Women's Center's Kitchen served over 116, 747 meals in 2023 alone: our incredible Kitchen team serves three nutritious meals seven days a week and offers an important space for women and gender diverse individuals to connect and share a meal with each other.

What to Expect: Kitchen volunteers help with meal preparation (e.g. chopping and measuring), keeping the kitchen clean and organized (e.g. wiping counters, organizing the food pantry and cabinets), and serving our delicious meals to participants.
