Rancho Mission Viejo’s 8th annual Turkey Trot on The Ranch is on Thursday, November 28, Thanksgiving Day! The run features a 10K, 5K, and a Little Gobbler’s 1K, that takes participants through the beautiful pathways and walkways of the Community of Rancho Mission Viejo.
All proceeds from the run will benefit The Nature Reserve at Rancho Mission Viejo, the entity responsible for education and conservation of the historic land of Rancho Mission Viejo.
The run will happen rain or shine!
Volunteer shifts include the following opportunities, so read below and pick the one that best suits you!
- Pre-registration and packet pickup
- Course Monitor
- Hydration Station
- Snack Station
- Course Flaggers
- Medal Distribution
- Finisher Recording
- Photographers
- E-Bike Marshalls
Please note: All volunteers under 18 will require a parent's consent on their liability waivers. Volunteers must be a minimum of 13 years old to volunteer. A guardian must accompany those who are between the ages of 13 and 15 years old during the time of their shift. Volunteers 16 to 17 years old do not need a guardian but will still require a guardian’s consent on their liability waiver. All participants and volunteers, regardless of age, must sign a liability waiver before their shift.
All volunteers must arrive by 7:00AM if they volunteer on the day of the run and will be able to leave after their stations have been cleaned up.

The Reserve at Rancho Mission Viejo-is a growing habitat reserve located on historic Rancho Mission Viejo-is managed by the non-profit Rancho Mission Viejo Land Trust, a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is "to preserve and enhance Reserve lands for ecological, educational, charitable, conservation, open space, scientific, and recreational uses." Through our public access and education programs, visitors can experience the natural beauty of South Orange County.
