ORGANIZATION: LOVE FOR OUR VALUED ELDERS

Love for Our Valued Elders, Inc. (L.O.V.E.)is seeking a dedicated Grant Writer to join its team and play a crucial role in creating its Food and Nutrition program (Provisions from the Heart) for our elders who are "shut-in", and are unable to travel to food service programs within the community. This program will provide door-to-door meal delivery to eligible elders 61+ years of age.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify potential grant opportunities that support LOVE's mission of providing quality health and wellness solutions for our elders
  • Collaborate with program managers to gather information for grant proposals, specifically focusing on the creation of Provisions from the Heart and all other initiatives
  • Develop compelling grant proposals, emphasizing the importance of healthy nutrition, socialization, physical contact, and communication in promoting holistic elder well-being
  • Maintain a deep understanding of LOVE's elder health and wellness programs to effectively communicate their impact and the critical need for food and nutrition opportunities
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with funders and grant-making organizations that align with the organization's goals

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in grant writing, preferably in the realm of elder healthcare and wellness
  • Strong research skills to identify and assess potential funding sources that support health and wellnees, as well as food and nutrition programs
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and convey the importance of health, wellness, food, and nutrition in elder well-being
  • Passion for improving the lives of elders through holistic healthcare solutions

Love for Our Valued Elders, Inc. (L.O.V.E.) was created in 2020 to answer the call of valued elders who struggle to live out their choice to age in place within their own homes and communities with dignity, security, appreciation, and value. We respond to the call by providing (1) Let's Connect-resource center, (2)Care Giver Support programs, (3) Provisions From the Heart-food and nutrition program, and (4) Communal and Social Engagement-programs and activities. At L.O.V.E., we have positioned ourselves - since our service of care began in 2020 - to provide a mix of programs and services which create an environment for our elders to feel safe, be independent, and feel appreciated as valuable members of the communities in which they live.
