We are looking for a Grant Writer that will help us secure funding for our SDV operation expenses, which will help our organization operate throughout the year. You will work directly with MAWOCN leadership to understand the organization’s operations and initiatives to compose and submit narratives pertaining to the mission. Responsibilities

  •   Identify grant funding opportunities.
  •   Build and maintain relationships with funders and donors.
  • Write and submit grant proposals, manage grants, as well as grant reports to funders.
  •   Collaborate with leadership to compile an annual report.
  •  Maintain proficient knowledge of the organization’s history and program initiatives.
Requirements and skills
  •   Proven work experience as a Grant Writer or similar role.
  •   Able to provide at least 2 writing samples that were successful.
  •   Proficient with measuring and reaching income goals.
  • Excellent knowledge of fundraising information sources.
  •   Proficient with Google Docs, MS Office Word, and Excel.
  •   Bachelor’s degree in creative writing or related field.

The Massachusetts Women of Color Network (MAWOCN) started in 2009 as part of a national call to action for the domestic and sexual violence movement. The mission of the MAWOCN is to support the leadership of women of color working in the DV/SV movements in Massachusetts. We provide technical assistance, share knowledge and resources, provide peer-to-peer support, and mentorship.
