Join us at Abalone Cove Reserve for our Outdoor Volunteer Day! We will be planting native plants and/or removing invasive weeds in order to improve habitat for protected wildlife species.

Please do not arrive before 9AM, the parking lot does not open until 9 AM.

This event will meet at 9:15 AM in the parking lot next to the parking booth of Abalone Cove Reserve: 5970 Palos Verdes Dr. South, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275.

We will be working outdoors, so please wear closed-toed shoes, and be sure to bring bug spray, sun protection, drinking water and a snack. Please also be prepared for mildly strenuous hiking to reach planting locations.

Please note that events may be cancelled due to weather conditions. Please check the event page at https://pvplc.volunteerhub.com before leaving for the event.

All volunteers under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign and complete their release before they can volunteer. Volunteers under 16 should be accompanied by an adult.

The mission of the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy (PVPLC) is to "preserve land and restore habitat for the education and enjoyment of all."

Description

The Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy (PVPLC) manages over 1600 acres of open space on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, and two nature centers with native plant demonstration gardens. The PVPLC engages volunteers in the development and maintenance of native plant gardens in order to demonstrate how gardening with native plants is beneficial for the environment.
