No matter who you are, your level of experience, or your volunteer interests, there is a role you will enjoy. We have volunteers of all ages. EVENT: 4th Annual Crab Feed Fundraiser -- Proceeds will provide free rides for eligible veterans to and from their VA-scheduled medical appointments using the DAV Volunteer Transportation Network.

Volunteer Position: DRINK BAR ATTENDANT

Commitment Time: 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Saturday, February 22, 2025

Description of Volunteer Duties:

Checks in and out with the timekeeper - to receive and turn in volunteer identification.

Works in a team environment with other volunteers.

Interfaces with the event attendees courteously and professionally.

Must wear a provided volunteer identification at all times during the event.

Maintains good communication with their volunteer team.

Please let us know if you are RBS server certified and authorize Chapter 48 to designate you as the one required RBS server for the event. If you authorize the Chapter to use your certification please provide us with the following: Server ID, certification expiration date, and contact phone number for form ABC-221. Certified RBS servers can retrieve their Server ID and expiration date through ABC's RBS Portal. https://www.abc.ca.gov/education/rbs/

Assists with setting up the drink bar, such as filling coolers with ice from the ice machine, prepping the area with supplies, keeping the area clean and organized, keeping certain drinks cold, moving drink supplies from the kitchen to the bar area, etc.

A designated volunteer will verify the age of patrons by checking their government-issued IDs. Patrons who are confirmed to be 21 years or older will receive a wristband to indicate their eligibility. Attendants must ensure all guests are wearing the appropriate wristbands, confirming that their IDs have been checked and they meet the 21+ age requirement, prior to serving.

Pours wine and beer into event-designated wine or beer cups at the bar. Does not allow guests to carry wine or beer bottles or cans to the table.

Does not handle cash. However, donations are welcomed. Monitors the secure donation box at the bar table.

Assists with breaking down the bar and boxing unused items.

Minimum age 18 years old. No experience required.

Volunteer Meals (Saturday 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM): Food will be available for volunteers only in the breakroom. Volunteers cannot eat in the auditorium unless they have paid for a dinner ticket (seat). Non-alcoholic drinks are available for free to all volunteers throughout the event. Volunteers are responsible for feeding themselves. Volunteer meals are available for volunteers working an entire Saturday shift or multiple Saturday shifts.
