Are you an experienced graphic designer passionate about using your skills to raise awareness for invisible illnesses? Join Invisible Illness Awareness Network (IIAN) as a Graphic Designer volunteer, where you'll take the lead in creating visually compelling materials to educate and inform others about these conditions.
In this role, you will work independently to design graphics for social media, presentations, pamphlets, and other educational materials. Some projects may involve medical images, so knowledge of anatomy is a plus, though not required. Your creativity and expertise will help enhance our outreach efforts and raise awareness about the realities of living with invisible illnesses.
We are seeking individuals with a solid background in graphic design who can work independently, manage their time effectively, and produce high-quality, professional visuals. This is a remote position, offering flexibility while allowing you to make a meaningful impact.
If you’re looking for an opportunity to use your design expertise for a cause that matters, we’d love to hear from you!

Mission Statement
The mission of the Invisible Illness Awareness Network is to increase awareness about invisible illnesses, particularly through an easily adaptable education program designed for high schools, colleges, and other forms of higher education. Additionally, we aim to provide resources and support for the invisible illness community while fostering compassion and understanding between patients, providers, and the general population. By creating a safe and supportive environment for those living with invisible illnesses, the organization seeks to reduce the stigma associated with these conditions and disabilities.
Description
The Invisible Illness Awareness Network (IIAN) was founded by Stephanie Miller and Sarah Hammes in 2023, dedicated to raising awareness and providing support for individuals with invisible illnesses. Through initiatives like our affiliate program and our Invisibly Aware Series, we aim to educate current and future healthcare professionals and the general public about invisible illnesses, chronic illnesses, and disabilities. Our affiliate program, which began at Loyola University Chicago and has expanded to the University of Pennsylvania, continues to grow as we collaborate with more universities to implement our educational programs, particularly those with pre-health tracks. Our Invisibly Aware Series is an implementation of our affiliate program and is open to the public.
