Mission Statement

Our Mission: Our mission is to help families be families by creating custom home modifications for children with special healthcare needs. From sensory and therapy rooms to fully wheelchair-accessible spaces, our home transformations provide safer care, improve physical health and quality of life, and give families the freedom to focus on what truly matters: celebrating and supporting each other. Our Vision: Welcome Home Angel aspires to become the premier children’s charity, serving children with chronic illness, physically debilitating injury, and severe developmental disabilities. We will strive to serve as a central partner for other organizations in our service areas who also help this group of children, by connecting families to community resources.

Description

In 2007 John Kaiser, our Founder, announced to a group of friends that he wanted to fulfill a dream of helping families of children who were stricken with a devastating illness or have been in a debilitating accident. The unthinkable was now reality for these families and for many families as they try and cope with a whole new set of challenges. As an Interior Designer and not a healthcare provider John Kaiser knew that he could not heal the wounds but maybe, just maybe he could help make the situation better. Today, WHA has brought joy and comfort to over 75 children and their families across southeastern NC by renovating bedrooms, bathrooms, and other living spaces within the homes of chronically ill or injured children. Renovations allow for a safer, happier place in which these children can focus on healing, rather than their obstacles.
