Position Description

The Volunteer Director of Development & Fundraising will be responsible for developing and implementing the systems needed to support substantial growth over the next six to twelve months. In collaboration with the President & CEO, the Director will lead fundraising efforts as Immune Recovery Foundation expands. They will also organize special fundraising events.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote fundraising initiatives.
  • In conjunction with the communications and marketing team, create compelling fundraising materials, including brochures, newsletters, and social media content.
  • Analyze fundraising data to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide regular reports to the President & CEO and Board on fundraising performance and progress towards goals.
  • Ensure all fundraising activities comply with legal and ethical standards, including IRS regulations for 501(c)(3) organizations.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as marketing, communications, and programs, to align fundraising efforts with overall organizational goals.
  • Explore and implement new and innovative fundraising techniques and technologies to enhance donor engagement and revenue.
  • Train, and manage volunteers to assist with fundraising activities
  • Secure financial support from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
  • Develop and execute Immune Recovery Foundation’s annual fundraising plan
  • Oversee the coordination and execution of special events.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with major donors.
  • Create and execute a strategy for a large, sustained base of annual individual donors.
  • Attend virtual and/or in person meetings when available.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in the field of fundraising, nonprofit management.
  • Must reside in the eastern or central United States
  • Excellent people skills, with experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary, diverse, and dynamic teams.
  • Ability to analyze data and metrics to assess the effectiveness of fundraising campaigns.
  • Proficiency in using donor management software and CRM systems for tracking and reporting.
  • Experience should include legal, audit, compliance, budget, and resource development.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies, and guiding investment in people and systems.
  • Flexible and a self-starter; able to multitask while also being highly detail oriented.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to Immune Recovery Foundation’s mission.

  • Work closely and partner with other national patient advocacy organizations, community-based organizations, and medical nonprofits to educate and disseminate information about systemic chronic, rare and life-altering diseases that impact underserved patient communities.
