Big Thicket National Preserve is looking for volunteers to help walk the trails while making contacts with visitors and performing general trail maintenance.
The time commitment will be 4-8 hours a week. Duties will include:
- Hiking the trails of the Big Thicket
- Making informal contacts with visitors and answering questions about the preserve
- Performing light trail maintenance (moving sticks, branches, debris under 40 lbs)
- Informing NPS staff of unsafe trail conditions and other issues
