ORGANIZATION: Lenox Hill Neighborhood House

Lenox Hill Neighborhood House is a 130-year-old settlement house widely recognized as one of New York's premier human services providers. Founded in 1894 as a free kindergarten for immigrant children, the Neighborhood House now serves 16,000 people in need each year through an array of effective and integrated services--social, educational, legal, health, housing, mental health, nutritional and fitness.

We are seeking volunteers to serve meals at our annual Thanksgiving Dinner Dance for Older Adults, a festive holiday event where we provide a special holiday meal and live entertainment to 300 of our older adult clients. Volunteers are needed on Monday, November 25th, 3:30pm-6:30pm to serve food and beverages to guests.

Description

Lenox Hill Neighborhood House was founded in 1894 by the Alumnae Association of Normal College (now known as Hunter College of the City University of New York) as a free kindergarten for the children of indigent immigrants. Since then, we have remained at the forefront of community advocacy and social and educational change.
