Great Marsh Planting
ORGANIZATION: National Park Service
Please visit the new page to apply.
The Resource Management team is on the hunt for enthusiastic volunteers to help us plant native plant plugs in the stunning Great Marsh on October 30th and November 8th from 9 AM to 1 PM!
Get ready to dig in and make a difference! You’ll be using hand tools to create holes and plant beautiful native plugs from the NPS greenhouse. This is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, get a little dirty, and learn about local ecology!
What to Expect:
-A bit of bending and lifting
-Carrying a bucket weighing about 10 pounds for short bursts.
-Working in the Tansley unit near Mineral Springs Road, one of the most accessible and scenic spots in the marsh.
Parking Made Easy! Park at the Cowles Bog Trailhead lot next to the Dune Acres guard shack. If that fills up, don’t worry--there's more space at the Greenbelt Parking lot!
Bring Your Gear! If you have muck boots or waders, bring them along! If not, we’ll have a few pairs available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Don’t Forget: Pack your water, sunscreen, bug spray, and dress for the weather.
Come join us for a day of planting, laughter, and community spirit! Together, we’ll help our marsh thrive!
Thank you in advance for your help. Participation will be limited to 20 people due to the availability of resources so please RSVP Erin at erin_argyilan@nps.gov
