Keep Natick Beautiful will host its Annual Big Fall Sweep of Coolidge Hill, Sat. 11/23.

  • We’ll meet at the Grassy Triangle along Jefferson St.

  • Wear old clothes, sneakers, boots, water sandals, etc.

  • Tough, grunt work sweeping (and picking up) glass fragments from the rocky summit and turf.

  • We’ve managed to transform this landscape over the last decade into one of "Natick’s Environmental Jewels."

  • Sadly it was abused for decades.

  • It’s Natick’s only little "Bald Top" (about 350’ above sea level) from which (on a clear day) you can see Mt. Monadnock and the Berkshires

  • Henry Wilson used to practice his speeches from the summit. Imagine that.

  • KNB will bring its generator and shop vacs.

  • There will be snacks and drinks.

  • Come join us. You’ll have fun and make new friends.

Description

This involves:

  • Raising awareness and enlightening the general public.
  • Engaging people of all ages.
  • Picking up trash
  • Boosting recycling
  • Going "reusable"
  • Clearing a trail from a downed limb
  • Removing some invasive plants that are choking and killing our beautiful tree canopy
