Seasonal Volunteer (VIP) Position Description
Volunteers are responsible for staffing the information desk at the American Camp Visitor Center on San Juan Island in the Puget Sound North of Seattle.
Duties include:
- Open and close the visitor center
- Provide information, politely and competently, about park programs and policies to the visiting public
- Operate cash register and credit card machine in accordance with established procedures
- Inventory and help maintain stock
- Provide information about the park, including, but not limited to (Training will be provided)
- History of the border dispute known as "The Pig War", Native American culture and history in the Pacific Northwest, Pioneer and settler history in the region during the 1800s, Flora, fauna, and geology of the Pacific Northwest
- Regularly rove (in keeping with your abilities) an assigned area of the park to engage visitors on the trails

- Both persons in a couple must submit an application
- Must provide your own RV, we provide a full hookup campsite within the park
- No prior experience required
