We are seeking dedicated pet therapy dogs and their handlers to join our hospice volunteer team. This role provides invaluable comfort and companionship to hospice patients, enhancing their quality of life during a challenging time. If you have a friendly, well-trained therapy dog who enjoys interacting with people, we want you!

Responsibilities:

  • Visit hospice patients, providing emotional support and companionship.
  • Participate in structured visits, engaging with patients through gentle interaction and play.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a positive experience for patients and their families.
  • Maintain clear communication with hospice staff and follow their guidance during visits.

Qualifications:

  • The therapy dog must have an animal assistance therapy certification.
  • The dog should be friendly, calm, and comfortable in a healthcare setting.
  • Must show proof of liability insurance through certifing organization
  • Proof of current vaccination
