Mission Statement

MoM is the first and only exhibition and education center devoted to the art, science, and herstory of women, m/others, and families inclusive of all reproductive identities. We celebrate the work of mothers and counter narratives that have kept women less visible while educating future generations. Our mission is to start great conversations, create thought-provoking exhibits, and share information and education that informs and inspires lives. We are taking our rightful place in the museum world.

Description

MoM SEEKS ONSITE VOLUNTEERS IN St. PETE, FL:
Each year the Museum of Motherhood (MoM) welcomes interns and volunteers from a variety of disciplines, including those interested in Art, Anthropology, History, Human Development, Journalism, Graphics, Communication, Government, Literature, History, Science, Non-Profit Business, and Women’s and Gender Studies. Internships at MoM focus on the social, psychological, and economic realities of women, men, children, and m/others embedded in birth, carework, fostering, adoption, family, American culture and other experiences. Internships seek to balance individual goals and needs with those of the museum’s. Study labs, online courses, individual projects, visual displays, research, and guest docent opportunities are just a few of the ways MoM has worked with community members, high school, university and graduate students since 2011.
