Volunteer State Director
Reports to: Executive Director
Direct reports: Chapter Chairs within their state
Time commitment: 4 hours per week (Tuesdays 8pm est, 2 hours weekday between 8-4 est), 1-2 hours misc

Hours: Flexible
Location: Remote
Responsibilities:

  • Chapter Oversight

    • Mentor/advise chapter chairs within state on best practices for protecting public schools and libraries from extremist attacks

    • Recruit/train/mobilize Chapter Chairs

    • Attend Diversity/Equity/Inclusion training, and provide quarterly DEI training to Chapter Chairs.

    • Attend nationwide calls on Tuesday evenings.

  • Marketing

    • Working with local chapters, create marketing campaigns to raise awareness within their state

    • Proficiency in social media management and content creation

  • Outreach and Events

    • Host State Breakout sessions Tuesday evenings

    • Attend related community engagement events to exhibit and/or distribute materials

Qualifications

  • Residency requirement: has knowledge of politics and issues within their state

  • Proficient in Google applications, social media platforms.

  • Basic CRM knowledge a plus
