Volunteer Position: Scrum Master
Company Overview:
The Center for Societal Aspiration (CSA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to rehabilitating vulnerable members of the community, including individuals experiencing addiction, homelessness, and poverty through socially driven technology.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and organized Scrum Master to volunteer with our project management team. The Scrum Master will play a pivotal role in facilitating agile practices within the organization, ensuring that project teams are working efficiently and effectively towards their goals. This position involves guiding teams in the Scrum framework, promoting collaboration, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement to support the successful delivery of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Agile Coaching:
Serve as a coach for project teams, providing guidance on Scrum principles and practices to enhance team performance and collaboration. - Facilitation:
Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring that meetings are productive and focused on delivering value. - Team Support:
Support project teams by removing impediments and obstacles that hinder progress, fostering an environment where team members can thrive and contribute effectively. - Continuous Improvement:
Encourage a culture of continuous improvement by guiding teams to reflect on their processes and outcomes, identify areas for enhancement, and implement best practices. - Training and Onboarding:
Assist in onboarding new team members to the Scrum framework, providing necessary training and resources to facilitate their integration into the agile environment. - Reporting:
Help produce and maintain reports on team performance, project timelines, and deliverables to inform management and stakeholders. - Project Management:
Manage the project timeline, scope, budget, and resources to ensure successful project completion and alignment with organizational goals.
Qualifications:
- Experience or certification in Agile methodologies, specifically Scrum (e.g., Certified Scrum Master, Scrum Master training).
- Strong understanding of the Scrum framework and agile principles.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with team members and stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude toward removing barriers to success.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Passion for nonprofit work and a commitment to the organization’s mission.
