Help Refugee Families Settle into Their New Homes

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Idealist.org

Recruiting Organization: Ascentria Care Alliance

Ascentria Services for New Americans resettles and establishes individuals and families fleeing conflict and oppression in their homeland. Refugees from around the globe have made Massachusetts their new home and Ascentria provides them with the resources they need to adjust to their new culture and become self-sufficient and productive citizens. To further help these refugees, we are looking for volunteers to help settle them into their new home. There are so many ways you can help: cleaning and organizing their apartments, driving the clients to appointments and the airport, moving furniture, painting rooms, explaining things about the neighborhood to them, be an advocate for them in appointments, or welcoming clients and answering telephones. You can really be a true Welcome Ambassador! For more information about the program, visit ascentria.org.
