The Community Food Bank delivers our boxes, bonus items (meat, bread, produce, etc.) and undesignated goods weekly. Deliveries currently occur on Thursday mornings, but may switch to Mondays, so flexibility is appreciated.
It's a 2 hour commitment, 9-11am. Sometimes delivery is early (9 or before) and sometimes after 10. There's bending and lifting. Volunteers should to be able to lift 20lbs, although not many things weigh that much and we have carts to help move the goods. Food will be taken from the truck to our refrigerators and freezers. On-the-job training will be provided.
Food safety training is required every three years. It's through the Community Food Bank, only lasts about an hour and is free.
A long term weekly commitment is appreciated.

Description
The food bank at Christ Church United Methodist is a partner agency with the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona. We distribute montly TEFAP (The Emergency Food Assistance Program) boxes as well as provide pantry visits to clients.
We are open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9am-noon.
