Join United for Literacy as a volunteer tutor and make a meaningful difference in the lives of learners across the British Columbia-Lower Mainland. You'll have the opportunity to work one-on-one or in group settings with kids, youth, adults, and families, supporting their literacy, life skills, and academic goals. As part of this role, you'll assist learners with homework, develop their literacy capabilities, and help them achieve their individual learning objectives. Volunteers play a key role in delivering targeted and innovative literacy programs to those who need it most, while working collaboratively with community centers, schools, public housing, and shelters. Training and ongoing support are provided to ensure you feel confident in helping learners thrive.
