Zero-waste volunteers needed for Oyster Roast/Picnic

We are helping to facilitate zero waste event services for the Edisto Island Open Land Trust's Annual Oyster Roast event on Sunday November 10th, 2024. Our goal is make the event as zero waste and sustainable as possible, with at least 90% of the waste from the event being either compostable or recyclable. We weigh all the waste and calculate a diversion score for the land trust.
We are looking for some volunteers to help us staff some waste sorting stations at the event. Volunteers will basically just help educate the event guests about what's compostable and recyclable, and event staff will go over everything with volunteers beforehand. It's a very straight-forward task! :)
The event is from 12:30-5pm, but we have split volunteers into 2 shifts, 12:30-3pm and 2:45-5:15pm with 15 minutes of overlap time between shifts. Volunteers will be able to enjoy the event before/after their shift. There will be lots of food, steamed oysters, live music, and even free drinks/open bar.

Description
Keep Charleston Beautiful provides litter prevention and recycling education programs to local schools and youth groups. We also work with community groups and businesses to conduct cleanup and beautification events. We work with any group any time to remove litter. All programs and supplies are offered free of charge.
