Mission Statement

To assist in maintaining and enhancing the public libraries of Kailua Kona and Kealakekua on the big island of Hawaii. Provide support to these libraries with programs, speakers, and materials to enhance literacy in our community.

Description

We fundraise to support programs, library needs, and to reinforce the importance of reading. These include monthly book sales, membership dues, and other fundraising activities. Reading proficiency in the Kailua Kona public elementary schools is at 40% which is considerably less than 52% Hawaii statewide.
