The Volunteer Coordinator will coordinate systems to support SVT staff in volunteer management and to support volunteers in their work with SVT. The Volunteer Coordinator will also interact with volunteers to ascertain their satisfaction and provide support.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with staff to determine volunteer needs.
Produce and send monthly or bimonthly volunteer newsletter.
Process new volunteer applications. Follow-up with each applicant and conduct screening calls with potential volunteers.
Work with SVT staff to post new volunteer positions and projects on SVT website and promote them on social media.
Add and maintain volunteer positions on internet job boards.
Ensure that volunteers track their hours and tasks.
Assist volunteer supervisors in maintaining new communication best practices, including but not limited to regular check ins, annual volunteer reviews, and ensure proper tracking on volunteer status in Salesforce software.
Plan and organize the spring Volunteer Appreciation Event. Plan additional training events and social gatherings.

Description
Sudbury Valley Trustees (SVT) is a regional land trust, founded in 1953. SVT is dedicated to conserving land and protecting wildlife habitat in the Concord, Assabet and Sudbury river basin. This is one of the most scenic, culturally rich, and historically significant regions in the United States. Today, approximately 3,100 members support SVT’s work in 36 different towns in the watershed.
SVT is responsible for the protection and care of diverse conservation lands that include wetlands, sensitive habitats, trails and other open spaces including major sanctuaries. SVT reservations are open to the public free of charge, and include trails for walking, bird watching, cross-country skiing and horseback riding.
