Volunteer Position: Data Analyst

Company Overview:
The Center for Societal Aspiration (CSA) is a startup 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to rehabilitating vulnerable members of the community, including individuals facing addiction, homelessness, and poverty through socially driven technology.

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join our team as a volunteer. The Data Analyst will play a crucial role in analyzing complex data sets, providing insights that drive strategic decision-making and improve program effectiveness. This position will involve collaborating with various departments to ensure that our data collection and analysis processes align with our mission and organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Collection & Management:
    Develop and implement effective data collection processes to ensure high-quality data for analysis.
  • Data Analysis:
    Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform program development and resource allocation.
  • Reporting:
    Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders, including the board, management, and program teams.
  • Collaboration:
    Work closely with program managers and other departments to understand their data needs and provide analytical support for program evaluation and improvement.
  • Visualization:
    Create engaging data visualizations and dashboards to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Data Quality Assurance:
    Conduct regular audits of data to ensure accuracy and consistency, implementing processes to enhance data integrity.
  • Recommendations:
    Provide actionable recommendations based on data analysis to support strategic initiatives and program enhancements.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar analytical role, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., SQL, Excel, R, Python, Tableau, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present data findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis methods and techniques.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining data integrity and accuracy.
  • Passionate about nonprofit work and dedicated to making a positive impact in the community.
