  • Mentors help students craft compelling personal statements that showcase their unique experiences, strengths, and aspirations. Through brainstorming sessions, editing drafts, and providing feedback, mentors guide students in creating impactful essays highlighting their individuality and potential.
  • Understanding the financial aspect of attending college is essential for many students. Mentors provide guidance on navigating the complex world of financial aid options such as scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study programs. Mentors also assist students in completing financial aid applications accurately.

  • Cultural Sensitivity: Being sensitive to diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences is crucial as it allows mentors to understand each student's unique needs, perspectives, and challenges. This sensitivity helps create an inclusive environment where all students feel supported.
  • Reliable & Responsible: Commitment to attending mentoring sessions consistently and being punctual.

College Prep Mentors make a positive impact on the lives of program participants. Mentors experience personal fulfillment and build meaningful relationships. Mentors have the opportunity to witness high school seniors grow and help them overcome challenges while guiding them toward higher education.
