Multnomah County Library is hosting several performances of a live theater production based on Joan Didion's book, The Year of Magical Thinking. We are looking for a couple of volunteers to help with setup and cleanup. In between, volunteers can sit back and enjoy the show!

Date & Location

Midland Library, 805 SE 122nd Ave, Portland, OR 97233 Saturday, November 2, 12:45 pm - 4:15 pm

About the Program
Starring powerhouse actress, Diane Kondrat, and featuring an original violin score composed and performed by Michelle Alany, this story of unexpected loss examines the power of grief and how we can heal from it’s effects.

Based on the beautiful, National Book Award winning and Pulitzer Prize finalist, memoir by Joan Didion. This play, adapted by the author herself, recounts the year that both her husband and daughter died. It spotlights the force that grief is in our lives as well as how we can move forward through the trials of loss to heal ourselves. This event, as well as being a truly inspiring story of resilience, will also spark a discussion on the lasting effects of loss, grief, and how we can move forward individually and as a community into the future.

Northwest Classical Theater Collaborative is a non-profit organization that tours classical plays throughout the Pacific Northwest.
