Want to be a part of Multnomah County Library history? Help us at the St. Johns Library groundbreaking event on Wednesday, November 13! St. Johns Library will be renovated and expanded. The existing building will remain and around 2,900 more square feet will be added. Learn more about the expanded St. Johns Library. Date & Time: Wednesday, November 13, 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Location: The event is taking place at 7510 N Charleston Ave, Portland, OR 97203 ( map).

Age Requirement: 16+ or any age if volunteering with a parent/guardian

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Help set up and break down the event
  • Greet event guests and encourage them to sign the guest book
  • Answer directional questions and help attendees find their way around
  • Escort event speakers
  • Assist with event clean up

Special Skills & Qualifications

  • Enjoy talking with people
  • Conversationally fluent in English
  • Flexible and willing to help with different tasks (assigned at the event)
  • Able to walk up and down stairs and lift light items. There may be times when a volunteer will be asked to lift items up to 20 pounds during set up and take down
  • Able to stand and move around for up to 3 hours
