The grand reopening of Midland Library will be a vibrant, celebratory, multigenerational and multicultural event! We are anticipating a large number of attendees and are looking for volunteers who are flexible and willing to help out where needed. Volunteers will assist with a variety of tasks depending on what is needed most at the time.

Shifts Available:
Saturday, October 26
- 8:00 am - 11:00 am
- 10:30 am - 2:30 pm
- 2:00 pm - 5:30 pm
- 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm - Teens Only
Sunday, October 27
- 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
We are also seeking volunteers to introduce our new Sensory Space to library patrons. Sensory Room volunteers are needed Saturday and Sunday in 2-hour shifts.

Age Requirement
General positions: 16+ or any age if volunteering with a parent/guardian
Teen space positions: 14 - 18 years old
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Help set up and break down the event
- Greet event guests and helping them find their way
- Assist with craft stations
- Assist with guest seating
- Distribute food and beverage
- Assist performers
- Help manage line queues for popular programs and craft stations
Special Skills & Qualifications
- Excited about new libraries
- Enjoy talking with people
- Conversationally fluent in English
- Able to work in a busy and fast paced environment
- Able to stand for the majority of the shift and lift up to 20 lbs
- Able to work independently
