Youth Experiencing Homelessness Program is designed with the needs of young people aged 18-25 in mind, providing a warm and welcoming space where they can feel safe and supported. The program operates at IRCO Sokhom Tauch Community Center, where participants can enjoy physical activities while accessing support.
The program offers not just resources but also fosters a sense of community and connection. Our dedicated volunteers are the heart of this initiative with the support of IRCO Program staff. They create a friendly atmosphere, assist with check-ins, distribute resources, and connect participants with the services they need. By building trust and providing a listening ear, volunteers help each young person feel valued and seen
Many of these youth are navigating a transition period, seeking stability, connection, and guidance. Our volunteers play a crucial role in linking them to vital resources and a sense of belonging, making a real difference in their lives during this important time.
We are seeking dedicated volunteers to support our program in three key roles:
1. Front Desk/Sign-In Volunteers: Greet and check in participants, ensure proper sign-in procedures, track attendance, and assist with registering new participants. Your warm welcome helps create a sense of belonging, ensuring that all youth feel seen and supported from the moment they arrive.
2. Food Distribution Coordinators: Manage the setup, distribution, and safe handling of food/snacks, ensuring all participants have access and monitoring any dietary restrictions or food allergies. By providing nutritious snacks, they help meet basic needs, creating a safe and caring environment for participants.
3. Resource Distribution/Support: Assist in distributing informational resources, flyers, or materials on health, education, or local services, and guide participants to appropriate resources based on their needs. Your efforts empower youth to access critical services, fostering greater self-sufficiency and support during a crucial time in their lives.
