Certified Therapy Dogs Wanted to Visit Hospice Patients

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Embracing HospiceCare - Somerset County

We are looking for Certified Therapy Dogs to visit our patients! Many of our patients are animal lovers and would love a visit from a therapy dog. While many nursing homes and assisted living facilities are pet-friendly, there are some that don’t allow resident animals. Consequently, some patients have to give up their furry companions when making the transition into a long-term care facility. This often complicates an already difficult time for patients and their loved ones.

If you are the owner of a certified therapy dog, please consider becoming a volunteer with Embracing HospiceCare. You and your four-legged friend are sure to put a smile on a patient’s face!

Positions are available in Monmouth, Ocean, Mercer, Middlesex, and Somerset counties. To learn more, please contact our volunteer director, Gail Rabstein, at 732-974-2545 or via email at bcolby@ehcnj.com.
