Looking to Make a Difference? Be a Companion for Hospice, Opportunity for College Students
ORGANIZATION: Embracing HospiceCare - Mercer County
Please visit the new page to apply.
Embracing HospiceCare is looking for college students who are interested in becoming Hospice Volunteers. You don’t need to be a medical student or have medical experience; all you need is a caring heart and a willingness to make a difference in the life of a terminally ill patient. Students will receive special training to serve as Patient Companions. As a Patient Companion, students will have the opportunity to read to patients, play chess or checkers, help to make a scrapbook or write letters - or simply provide a loving, calming presence to a patient in need. A Patient Companion’s duties depend on the patient’s unique needs and interests.
This is an excellent opportunity for students to explore career possibilities. Positions are available in Monmouth, Ocean, Mercer, Middlesex, and Somerset counties. To learn more, please contact our volunteer director, Gail Rabstein, at 732-974-2545 or via email at grabstein @ehcnj.com .
