For over 70 years, MDA has led the way in accelerating research, advancing care, and advocating for the support of our families. MDA’s mission is to empower the people we serve to live longer, more independent lives.

We are excited to host the MDA Muscle Walk Celebration to bring our MDA community together to raise funds to further our mission. We are looking for a group of committed volunteers to assist MDA Staff with day of event logistics - walk route set up and clean up, registration, greeting attendees, photographer, camper art station and more. We are committed to ensuring that your volunteer experience is a rewarding one, while helping to fuel MDA’s mission. Join us for this rewarding event.

Timing: The volunteer commitment will be on November 9, 2024 at Woodward Academy from 8:00AM -12:30PM.

Volunteer Requirements: This opportunity will require the ability to be outdoors, engage with MDA Families, Vendors and Sponsors with a positive and professional approach. For volunteers who wish to help with set-up/clean up, they will need the ability to lift 25lbs but this is not mandatory to participate in this volunteer opportunity.

Volunteer Roles:

  • Route Volunteer - Role includes setting up the signs along the route, arch set up and take down, water stop, cheering along participants, and more.
  • Event Headquarters - This group of volunteers will be responsible for setting up, volunteering in a specific area during the event including our food/beverage table, our interactive tents, and stage area. You will also be able to cheer on participants at the start/finish line.
  • Registration - Set up, take down and run registration that will include helping people register and logging income that teams bring. After registration ends, we will have this group go to the start/finish line to cheer on participants.
  • Parking/Greeters - This group will set up directional signage for parking, and help/assist with the flow of traffic and the drop off zone for participants.
