About Us: We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering girls in Louisville. We are looking for a passionate archivist to help organize and preserve a rich collection of photos, interviews, and videos that document our work and the journeys of the students we serve.

Job Description: The Archivist will be responsible for:

  • Cataloging and organizing our collection of photos, videos, and interviews.
  • Creating metadata and tagging systems to make the collection easily searchable and accessible.
  • Preserving and digitizing materials for long-term storage.
  • Collaborating with our team to create educational materials and exhibitions based on the archive.
  • Providing expertise in history or anthropology to contextualize and tell compelling stories from the archive.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in archiving, digital asset management, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with archival systems (DSpace, Omeka, etc.).
  • Interest or academic background in anthropology or history.
  • Strong organizational and technical skills.
  • Passion for working with nonprofits and empowering girls and students through education.

Mission Statement

300FOR300 is a 501(c)(3) education based non-profit that provides free laptops and writing courses to middle school aged girls of color in Louisville, Kentucky. Through our efforts young women of color will be given the chance to share their stories and dreams with the world. Our mission is to create massive positive action in the face of inequality and injustice. By sharing stories, we believe we can create a more compassionate community for young girls in Louisville. We plan to give away 300 laptops to 300 local girls.

Description

Program Status - Louisville, Kentucky

300FOR300 has gifted laptops to the 40+ middle school-aged girls who have gone through our writing and expression course.

We will launch our summer leadership program in July 2022 with girls who have completed our writing program, to prepare them to help the incoming classes.

Engagement Requirements for Participants are:

* Online application
* Interview
* Completion of a six-week master course

Pilot Program

In December of 2020, 300FOR300 wrapped its pilot program with 20 local girls.

* Participants were provided brand new laptops and received instruction from high-level educators,
artists, and a mental health worker.

* Laptops, supplies, and snacks were provided by 300FOR300. Staff was sourced from local
volunteers. Facilities for screenings/education were sponsored by the Kentucky Science Center.

April 2021

300FOR300 held a 4-week Poetry Workshop at the Kentucky Science Center that helped local
girls unlock and express difficult emotions while exploring their diverse identities and perspectives.

August 2021 300FOR300 held a summer session with another twenty participants. This was made possible through a partnership with the Louisville Urban League.
